No, you can try the core typing experience without an account. Create a free account to save your progress, maintain streaks, and access logged-in features like Reading Mode and Memory Verse. Premium features also require an account.

Type By Faith uses the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible, which is in the public domain in the United States. This classic translation is known for its literary beauty and historical significance.

Click on "Verse-By-Verse" in the navigation menu. From there, you can choose to select a specific verse or use the "Random Verse" option to get a random passage for typing practice.

We calculate typing speed in words per minute (WPM) based on the standard definition of a word as 5 characters. Accuracy is calculated as the percentage of correctly typed characters compared to the total characters in the passage.

Type By Faith has a free tier and a premium subscription. The free tier includes verse-by-verse typing (10 per day), timed tests (2 per day), guided lessons, Reading Mode, Memory Verse (5 verses), and Stage 0 of Rhythm Mode ("The Good Shepherd"). Most Type By Faith features require a physical keyboard, but our Reading Mode is fully mobile-friendly β€” no keyboard needed! Reading Mode is free for all logged-in users and lets you read Scripture with auto-scroll, time tracking, and word highlighting on any phone or tablet. For typing features, we recommend using a desktop computer or laptop.

Reading Mode is a free feature for all logged-in users, designed for focused, immersive Bible reading. Scripture auto-scrolls with word-by-word highlighting at your chosen speed (100-600 WPM). Track your daily reading time, adjust the font size, toggle highlighting on or off, and navigate seamlessly between chapters, books, and testaments. It's our first fully mobile-friendly feature β€” works on phones and tablets without a keyboard. Perfect for traditional Bible readers who want a distraction-free digital reading experience.

Rhythm Mode

Rhythm Mode is a musical typing game where you type falling notes in time with worship music. It's similar to rhythm games like Guitar Hero or Rock Band, but instead of a guitar controller, you use your keyboard to type. Each song features original worship music, and after completing the gameplay, you listen to scripture audio passages that inspired the song.

To fully complete a song in Rhythm Mode, you need to finish both parts: (1) Play through the rhythm game by typing the falling notes in time with the music, and (2) Listen to the scripture audio passage that inspired the song. This keeps you connected to God's Word while enjoying the gameplay experience. Premium members have instant access to all stages and can play in any order.

Type By Faith features original worship music created with AI technology, with each song inspired by foundational scripture passages. This allows us to provide high-quality worship music without licensing costs, keeping Type By Faith affordable and accessible to everyone.

Rhythm Mode features 8 story-driven stages with 35+ total worship songs. Stage 0 ("The Good Shepherd") is completely free to play. Stages 1-7 require a Premium subscription and unlock instantly for Premium members. Each stage contains multiple songs with varying difficulty levels.

Each song offers Easy, Medium, and Hard difficulty modes. Our proprietary difficulty rating system uses half-star precision (0.5 to 5.0 stars) based on note density, hand-switching patterns, rapid burst intensity, and key pattern complexity. Choose the difficulty that matches your skill level!

Shepherd's Hub

Shepherd's Hub is a premium feature for group leaders that lets you create groups and track your students' Bible typing progress. As a shepherd, you can monitor student streaks, verses completed, reading time, WPM, accuracy, and VOTD completionβ€”all from one dashboard. Students can join groups for free from their Account page; only the shepherd leader needs premium to create and manage groups.

Go to the Shepherd's Hub page, enter a group name, choose your enrollment mode (auto-approve or manual approval), and click "Create Group." You'll receive a unique access code to share with your students.

Students can join from their Account page by entering your group's access code. If you've enabled auto-approve, they'll join instantly. With manual approval, you'll review each request before they're added to your group.

You can view each student's current streak, verses typed today and this week, reading time, typing speed (WPM), accuracy percentage, VOTD completion, and last activity time. All stats update in real-time as students practice.

Typing Practice

Daily streaks track your consecutive days of typing practice. Complete any typing activity (verse, chapter, timed test, lesson, memory verse, or rhythm mode song) to maintain your streak. The fire badge in the navbar shows your current streak count, and clicking it reveals your weekly progress calendar. You'll earn milestone celebrations at 7, 14, 30, 50, 100, and 365 days!

Each day features a curated verse with a spiritual theme like "Joyful Thanksgiving" or "Divine Guidance." When you sign in, a banner appears below the navigation inviting you to type today's verse. Click the banner to go directly to that verse. Once you complete it (or dismiss the banner), it won't reappear until the next day's verse is ready.

Consistent practice is key to improving typing speed. Try to practice for at least 15-20 minutes daily with Type By Faith. Focus on accuracy first, and speed will naturally follow. Also, maintain proper typing posture and hand positioning.

Yes! Many users report that typing Scripture regularly helps them memorize verses more effectively. The physical act of typing engages multiple learning pathways in your brain, reinforcing memory retention.

Verse-by-Verse mode (free) lets you type individual Bible verses one at a time, with a daily limit of 10 verses. Chapter-by-Chapter mode (Premium) allows you to type entire chapters in one session and removes daily limits on verse-by-verse practice. Both modes track your WPM, accuracy, and progress.

Bookmarks let you save your favorite Bible passages for quick access. While typing, click the bookmark icon to save the current verse or chapter to a category. You can create multiple categories (like "Favorites", "Memory Verses", or "Study Topics") to organize your bookmarks. You can also share your bookmark collections with others using a share token, and import collections shared by friends or study groups.
